Deborah McCarroll, founder and president

Deborah McCarroll is president and owner of Studio Pacific in Seattle, WA. McCarroll has been designing for over 20 years, specializing in branding, print and web design.
McCarroll has vast experience, having held positions on three coasts, serving as Senior Designer, Art Director and Creative Director in Houston, Boston and Seattle, respectively. Her work has been exhibited in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, having been the first woman to be chosen to design the prestigious Spaceweek promotional poster for Houston's Johnson Space Center, as well as producing insignias for three of NASA's Space Shuttle missions. She founded the award-winning design firm Studio Pacific in 1993.
An award-winning painter, Deborah McCarroll has been painting and exhibiting her expressive and diverse paintings for more than two decades. McCarroll's vibrant, acrylic canvasses frequently utilize distressed gold and copper leafs. Text is often incorporated into the compositions resulting in thought-provoking, lyrical abstractions.
Her paintings explore themes of longing, serenity and isolation through rich color, metaphor and whimsy. One of her pieces won Best Painting in the Shanti Arts Earth, Water, Fire, Air – abstracts juried competition and she was featured in the art publication Stone Voices, earning the cover image.
Deb is also an accomplished song writer and author, with an original music cd release, American Original, documenting small town American stories with sweetness and longing. Her tender, rollicking memoir, The Long Hot Walk was a 2015 Nancy Pearl Award nominee and a North Street Book Prize finalist in 2016.
